"hello darling." said Hathen. She wa sorting through teh mail.

Christmas got up witrh a groa, knowing her mother was out. She got ready for school.

"ANything for me?" Said Zach, he wast serious though. Althpough his best friend had promised to write every week, he gueed he'd be more likely to get one a month, if that.

"Nope" said Hathen, slitting open a peice of mail with a knife.

Zach sighed and looked at the time "I better head off if I wanna see Tunny before school"

Hathen looked up and gave her son a kiss on teh cheek. "Have a nice day."

"I'll try" aid Zach "Cya"

"Bye" said Hathen distractedly, reading her mail.

Christmas sat out side her house, not wanting to get to school early.

Zach pased the house on the way and spotted her "Hey chris" he said,leaning on the gardne gate "Whats up?"

Christmas glanced at Zach. "I'm trying to imagine peoples faces today at school when tehy see me like this." she said gestuing to ehr face. "You?" she asked

"I'm Going to see Tunny, But I've just gona off the idea2

"Only just?" asked Christmas raising ehr eyebrow.

Zach shrugged "Seeing yous mademe want to hit him,so he can stew"

Christmas smiled at him. "You know, your not half as bad as i thought ypou were when i first met you."

Zah mirked "I'll take that as a compliment"

Chrsitmas grinned but winced when one of her cuts opened again. She got a tissue and dabbed at teh blood. She looked around. "Where the bike?" she asked.

"Oh, somethings wrong with the engine. I'm gonna get my bro to look at it when He gets leave"

Christmas raised an eyebrow. "Leave?" she asked.

"Oh, he' in the army"

Chrsitmas made an o shape with her mouth. "My brother is in hospital." she asid simply.

"Oh, whats up with him?"

Chrsitmas tensed. "Nothings wrong with him. My mother paid extra for teh mental insitute t take him in."

Zach blinked but didnt press "If you dont wamnna tell me thats fine"

Chrsitmas smiled slightly at him. "Its ok. Theres honestly othing wrong with him. My mother is just a pure christian so she automaticly thinks being gay is wrong."

"ah" said zach "poor guy, I mean, there was tis guy in chicago who got it bad a school for being gay, but having that a home" he whinced "Jeeesus"

Chrsitmas smiled. "He's a really cool guy too. My motehr fouind out some how. He never told ehr because he knew how she'd react. I was teh only one that knew. BUt when my motehr found out, she decided he was mental and shoved him in a mental instution."
