Geradr Stomped downstairs, grbbing his jacket "I'm going to the hospice" he snapped "If anyone wants me I'll bewith Jaden"

Helena went out of the living room. "Mum's already there. as usual." she said going into the kitchen

Gerard halted halfway out the door "no shit?"

"no shit." replied helena calmly

Gerard grunted and stepped back in "I'll wit till she comes home" he said. part of him wanted to avoi his mothr, but the oher par (nomatter how guilty he felt about it) Hated Going to see Jaden, hate dthe way hs brother looked so ill...Hated the way he was gonna die and there was nothing anyone could do about it...

Helena rolled her eyes. "Uh huh. Mum is upset because your avoiding her, and i know tahts hard to imagine her being any more upset, but soem how she managed it. So go see Jaden, and whilst your there, say at least one word to mum, you've barly spoken to her in the past wekk or so." said Helena, pushing him out the door.

Gerard helped the door open "Of course I havent" he snapped "If she hadnt spent so long researching Chemo Jaden wouldnt be dieing"

"Don't blame your mother" said Raven tiredly,coming downstairs, He looked like he hadnt slept in weeks "Its nother fault"

helena went over and gave her father a hug. "yo dad. how ya doin'?"

"Imfine" he said, Brushing her hair back with one hand. He walked into the kitchen and made himself a coffee.]

Gerard just galrred at him.

Helena rolled her eyes at Gerard. "Whats your problem?"

"Its their fault" he said.


Rven sigehd "go for a walk Gerard noone wants to hear this right now"

Gerard stormed out and down to the hospice, on getting thre he slowed and plastered on a false smile "hey jaden" he said, walking into teh room.

Jaden looked up, His bones were jutting out from beneath his skin and his cheeks were sunken "Hey Gerard" he smiled.

Rosemary glanced up and smiled at her son. "Hey darlin'" she was no longer like teh pictures of a young woman, beautiful and in her prime. She had become thin and her hair was stringy and lanky, nothing lke teh red mass that was seen in teh happy photos.

Gerard kept up his forced smile "hey mom" he said, Sitting by Jaden "I brought You that T shirt" he said, Chucking a Green Day Tshirt at him.

Jaden only just caught kit "thanks bro" he smiled. He was the only one in tat family who'd smiled genuinly for a longt ime"

Rosemary smiled bak at Jaden. She looked at Gerard. "How you feelin' love?"

Gerard shrugegd and ran a hand through his tangled hair.

Jaden Yanwed,he was always tired nowadays/.

Rosemarys attention automaticly went to her second son. She looked at him anxoisly

Jaden smield "Don;t worry mom" he yawned sleepily "Im just..." he trailed off,falling asleep softly. His chest rose and fell weakly with each laboured breath. Occosionally he emmited a himper in his sleep, it was the only ytime he admitted ther pain he was in. His hair was growing back ever so slightly in tufts now his body wasn't being blasted with Chemo and radiotherapy. Ever so often his fingers would twitch, A faint reminder of how he'd never stopped fidgiting,even in his sleep,It was a small ting,and didnt happen often, But it reminded them all that whatever happened he was the smae Jaden inside.

Gerard sigehd "I hate this" he muttered, Staring at his once healthy brotehr and putting his head in his hands. He remembered the good times, of going tick or treating with his iblings every halloween, how Jadens face always lit up when there was snow, The way his eyes had sparked when he laughed, That questioning expression when he thought Gerard was lieing (He could always tell). The small things that made Gerards (and he guessed everyone elses) heart ache. The 16 year old Reached into his rucksack, which he remembered Helena saying Must be physcilly attached to him since he carried it everywhere, And Pulled out an opaque sports bottle. Unwilling to admit to his mother what was in the bottle he us quickly took a drink and slipped it bac into his bag.

Rosemary glanced at teh bottle suspiosly before shrugging it of and worrying again.

Gerard Didn't say anything, Just Stayed looking at Joson for a minute before standing up. "I'm gonna...." but he couldn;t think of an excuse. he just wanted to get out of there.

Rosemary looked at him unhappily but nodded.

Gearard sighed I hate it when you make me feel bad hel he thought,sititng back down "You OK mom?"

rosemary looked up surprised. "Nothing son. You can go if you want." she said patting him weakly on teh arm.

Geard sighed "I'm sorry I've been avoiding you" he muttered, looking away "I Just...haven'y been coping"
